Lightweight Technology
1. Armoring in general (Armoring 101)
Traditionally, armored cars are made from all steel, but the problem is with steel is you add size and weight and you increase the opportunity for failure. What we’ve done, and we’ve made a habit of doing this at International Armoring is we decided to re-invent the the armoring process. At IAC, we’ve made new designs that will eliminate any welding in the vehicle. This is a remarkable revolutionary engineering achievement it completely changes the way armored cars are made. Along with being the only company with Armormax, today International Armoring is introducing a concept that will help with the way individuals are protected throughout the world. It’s called WeldFree!
The thing we tried to accomplish with Weldfree is we tried to completely illuminate any welding so as to avoid the mess and problems generally associated with steel made vehicles. Several companies certify their products but we’re the unique company that certifies the steel after it has been welded.
We figured out a way to make the armor thinner, lighter and stronger with a end product that is better than anything we have ever dreamed of. Armormax was the ideal choice for this new approach because it provides thinness and lightness that we want along with really nice options that’s what we wanted. Each armored vehicle has specific designs that fit perfectly in our model completely protecting the passenger compartment.

• Principal downside of steel is weight added and damage caused to the vehicle (advantage Armormax).
• Some armoring companies certify their armoring materials prior to placing materials in cars (though most do not)
• All good armoring companies certify armor prior to placing in the vehicle
• One or two great armoring companies certify their armor after it has gone through the installation process
